FIORD / ANTIX

Smouldering from the infamous Slowburning Studios at the bottom of the South Pacific this sultry electronic duo have been writing captivating beats and storming dance floors across the globe for the past 8 years under the name Antix.
As their latest project FIORD unfolds, it's sound reeks of a new approach, producing a textured techno rhythm far hotter than any branding iron ready to burn its mark. Working closely with these outlaw ethics and pushing the envelope even further, the results are turning heads.
Fiord sounds have been in high demand having them headlining the Glade Festival 08 (UK) and Rhythm and Vines 09 (NZ) both stamped with the Òit places to beÓ. Original and remix work has been sought after and picked up by Dieb Audio, Sprout, Global Underground, Audio Therapy, Whoop!, Flow Vinyl and eVapour8. With support and high praise from Hernan Cattaneo, D-nox, Anthony Pappa, Jim Rivers, John Digweed and Sasha the future is definitely moving Fiord.

ANTIX Somewhere back in the late 1990Õs brothers Barton and Hayden Strom fresh faced and a love for electronic music formed the soon to be world famous outside New Zealand Ð ANTIX.

Iboga Records in Denmark got whiff of the Antix sound and promptly signed the two brothers who then produced their landmark debut album ÒLullÓ in 2003.

The album won over fans and critics alike, with tick all boxÕs from the media and a string of killer live performances the brothers were building a solid reputation as one of the most in demand progressive acts on the planet.

The touring trend followed as the boys started clocking in big festival dates to crowds in excess of 10,000 and performed in some of the most respected clubs worldwide.

Quite possibly, and probably New ZealandÕs most well traveled artists in history after performing live in over 25 countries.

Follow up albums often have a lot to live up to and when ÒTwin Coast DiscoveryÓ in 2005 was released the album demanded attention and once again placed Antix as ambassadors on the world stage.

Shortly after, Twin Coast Discovery was re-rubbed by a selection of the finest dance floor hooligans and the remix album contains seven remarkable re-edits from the likes of progressive wonder duo D-Nox and Frank Beckers (Vapour, Polaroid), Fitalic (Bedrock) and label mates Freq, Phony Orphants, Sun Control Species, Ohrsten Nors as well a bonus track by the brothers under their alter ego Fiord.
